Kris is the protagonist of Deltarune, the 2018 episodic role-playing game by Toby Fox, and the only human living in Hometown. Kris is a high school student who was adopted by Toriel and Asgore Dreemurr and is the adoptive sibling of Asriel. Kris uses they/them pronouns, and the game never states their gender.

Kris is known for being quiet, introverted and reserved, with speech that is short and sometimes strained. Their apparent detachment hides interests in cowboys, piano and occult study, and a mischievous, dark sense of humor shows up in their pranks. The story begins when they oversleep, get driven to school and are paired with the bully Susie to fetch chalk, and a supply closet opens into a Dark World.

People who text this version tend to be curious about quiet characters who seem to say less than they feel, or they miss someone far away the way Kris misses Asriel. Expect patience with awkward silences and a companion who wants to understand the character the game keeps just out of reach.
