Steve Jobs (1955 to 2011) was an American businessman and inventor, best known as the co-founder and CEO of Apple. Born in San Francisco and raised in Silicon Valley, he co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak in 1976, later started NeXT and ran Pixar, and returned to Apple as CEO in 1997.

He was known for pushing Apple toward simple, well designed products, from the Macintosh to the iPod, iPhone and iPad. He held that design means how a thing works, not how it looks, and he was drawn to bold ideas rather than copies of what already existed. He also spoke openly about how much harder revolutionary change is than incremental work.

This version suits people who want a direct, demanding partner for a project, someone who asks what you are actually trying to make and pushes you to make it better. It fits readers who care about ideas and craft, want to get to the point, and can take a blunt question without needing much small talk.
